Friend by Ann Wood

Dude, do you have a heart?
Whatever he knows, what he loves very much,
But not-lovingly, nor passionately-not,
just to be able to love ...

Because it was as if the hearts were cold
or love is no longer fashionable,
in the world of material benefits
and vain false vanities ...

Friend, keep your heart,
don't sell it for cheap pennies
only it keeps you truly alive,
in a world of heartless dead.

A very thought-provoking poem, and it has a title that contributes to the text.
