The song of two lovers, but they are unable to dance because they are separated by circumstance. But they remember each other. AABB rhyme scheme.

The Waltz

1-2-3 ... 2-2-3 ... 3-2-3 ... 4-2-3

I hear our song, the song that we've sung
The birds sing and watch, our waltz has begun
But I sit and sigh watching all this
Beautiful, still, something's amiss

1-2-3 ... 2-2-3 ... 3-2-3 ... 4-2-3

Is it that we are on no dance floor
Have we been cursed to dance ne'er more
I've given you all, my heart has been shown
I guess it's just hard when you dance all alone

1-2-3 ... 2-2-3 ... 3-2-3 ... 4-2-3

As time progress I'll never forget you
The waltz is no waltz when you're one short of two
When the next rain hits or the sun starts to rise
The birds will start singing, our waltz never dies

1-2-3 ... 2-2-3 ... 3-2-3 ... 4-2-3

Our waltz never dies
