This is a response ro a prompt about the importance of a person’s name, in this case mine, it is definitely tongue in cheek
For Starters lets Look
At parents creative bane
Of mispronounced misspelled hooks
Mine is this, James McKee Zealy,jr
And that is where a mother’s creativity
Blends a solution of lifelong torture
She chose an abbreviation unique
Of my middle Name
So no one would confuse
Me with my father of dental fame
Yet to me it was forever obtuse
Kee is the abbreviation
It is singular
It is a one of a kind designation
Filled with ambiguous nomenclature
For the listener’s interpretation
Spellings are an adventure
An exercise in false assumptions
As follows, here goes
Keith, Kea, Key and the inevitable
You are the Key
Of this sardonic parable
Jokes abound with this spree
Of unintended jocularity
It doesn’t end there
My last name Zealy
Is rife with creative adventure
Such as Zealey, Zeely
To name a few
And the creative genius
Provides more complexity
To something phonetically
Simple, Zeal and add a y
Yet with the butchers cleaver
It is still subject to more try’s
Is it any wonder
In a desire for emotional sanity
I use in a desire for closure
