Trying to Escape the Labyrinth
The Labyrinth is like a powerful magnet,Every time I try to escape,
It pulls me back in.
And I always end up lost back inside
In the labyrinth corridors,
with its 150-meter-high granite walls.
There are torches on the walls
every 30 meters away.
So it's almost always
dark in here.
The flickering torchlights produce
hazy reflections
and misleading shadows,
That makes me feel afraid
Most of the time.
The center chamber is
in the heart of the Labyrinth
lit up by screaming red lights
projected from the ceiling.
That is where the Minotaur dwells.
At the entrance of the chamber
on the right wall
There is a vertical painting,
It shows the heart of a dense forest
of giant oaks where there is a lake
with plumbago blue waters.
It is said that half a century ago
A witch was drowned in this place.
The Labyrinth resembles a neural network
within a brain mass composed
of rotten gray matter.
Roaming in it is like a journey through
A burning brain.
The Minotaur has always tried to devour me
But so far, he has not succeeded.
At night, I always end up playing
a mortal game of
cat and mouse with the Minotaur
or sometimes hide and seek.
I recently found an exit to
a terrace of the Labyrinth.
From there sometimes
I can see the blue sky
and the faint rays of sunlight
Warm my face.
But soon I have to re-enter,
fearing being found.
I have no idea when finally
The Minotaur will let me rest,
For good.
