Autumn Leaves
Autumn leaves coloredWith burnt orange, yellows and brown
Are revealed as we walk with purpose
Around water shimmering spikes
Of ice sickles bright dripping
Talking with simple joy
Of appreciation of nature’s inevitable
Evolution of seasonal change
Where for a time on a clear
Chilled bright azure sky
Where the sun is presenting
A honeyed soothing glow
All that is wrong is stowed
For a moment in an elusive sanctuary
That can be remembered
At a time of our choosing
For today, love of community
Is all that really matters
While love deepens
Desires willfully strengthens
Where the autumn leaves
Of our lives burn
With ever increasing intensity
