The description was so long I wrote it below.
The scripture: "If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; even there shall Thy hand lead me, and Thy right hand shall hold me." (Psalm 139: 9-10).
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Held
From waters red
God’s hand did rise
And lifted up an angel.
Two swans, outstretched,
In tandem flew -
A journey made together.
A scripture carved
Into the base speaks
Of the Hand who holds,
Who leads us safely
Across the sea
Upon the wings of morn.
With body stretched,
The angel sleeps,
Safe in the hand of God.
His wings relaxed,
Eyes closed in rest,
Bound for eternal light.
Held
On a visit this week to Brookgreen Gardens in South Carolina, one of the sculpture installations had cranberries in the water. While it was purely for Christmas decoration and not tied in to the sculpture, for me the image of the red water with the “Wings of the Morning” sculpture by Marshall M. Fredericks was powerful. It made me think of the Red Sea.The scripture: "If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; even there shall Thy hand lead me, and Thy right hand shall hold me." (Psalm 139: 9-10).
