16All I can is try.
Your eyes illumine the night
Like stars but I know
That these stars are suns disguised.
I値l burn if I look too long.

Leave the door ajar.
Look at it from time to time.
Hoping you値l walk in
And cover the sores I wear
By lightly brushing my hair.

Walking on the beach.
Telling stories long and short.
Hands held, tight and true.
All I know is this one thing:
This値l be cherished memory.

I知 just a blanket
To warm you whenever cold.
But what can I do?
You池e the same to me, you know:
Last two fishes in the bowl.

I won稚 trouble you
Anymore with these tankas.
These feelings will disappear.
All we値l have are these
Memories and half writ words.
One day it値l be enough.
