HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE BY ANN WOOD

Christ is Risen, Truly Risen!
Let us be humble and kind to one another.
Let there be light, warmth, peace and love in our homes.
The Son of God died for us, and on the third day rose from the dead.
Today, according to an old custom, painted eggs and kozunak are eaten.
On Holy Thursday or Holy Saturday, eggs are painted, the first one is always red, and is set aside and kept for health, and prosperity, and to protect the home from bad luck. The eggs can be colourful, yellow, blue, green, orange, purple. Some people paint them, or use different techniques for painting. For the holiday, people knead kozunaks, they can be with different fillings. Some put rosehip or apple marmalade, others liquid chocolate, others Turkish delight and walnuts, raisins or dried fruits, or simply without filling. On Easter, a young lamb is slaughtered and baked in an oven or stove, and drobsarma is made, and a green salad with radishes, green onions, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, olives and boiled eggs is made. For breakfast, the family sits at the table and fights with eggs for health. Children receive bags with a variety of delicacies and money to receive the holiday. The day before Easter, people go to church, light candles and go around the church 12 times, a candle is carried home and left to burn out.
This is the tradition that I remember from my childhood. On this day, people greet each other with Christ is Risen, Truly Risen!
Be alive and healthy, love each other and I love you. May God bless you, your families and your homes, God willing, Amen! With love, light and peace forever yours, Ann.
