RAIN BY ANN WOOD

Rain, after drought!
After a long and hot summer, it finally rains.
The earth was thirsty for rain, and it was cracked from the heat.
Outside it is raining and smells of freshness, and the flowers have bloomed.
The weather has cooled down and the leaves of the trees have turned their autumn colours.
It is getting dark earlier outside, and the night is getting longer.
The birds are preparing for their long flight to the south, and people are preparing for the long and cold winter days.
Wild animals are preparing for their winter sleep and some of them are storing food in their hollows.
Summer is soon leaving, and Autumn is knocking on our doors, and after it Winter is slowly coming, but then Spring is waiting for us with its colourful clothes, and the aroma of blooming trees and flowers.
I love all seasons, because each of them has its own charm and beauty.
I love it most when it rains or snows, to stand in front of the fireplace with a cup of aromatic coffee or tea with a good book and listen to the rain. And in the spring and summer when it rains, to sit on the porch and watch the rain fall quietly.
Outside, it's raining and I'm sitting in front of the fireplace and drinking hot milk with honey and cinnamon listening to the rain.
