Disco Inferno

I danced. Around angry faces, hissing curses, stone-like bodies that wouldn’t move or give way; pushed me like concrete waves but still I persisted because I wished it and what I wished came true. I danced.

I woke up that morning with a swing in my step that wouldn’t leave me though feebly I tried. It was a Tuesday and I felt it rudely because the week ahead seemed like an ocean. I could swim peacefully till Friday comes but the swing in my step just wouldn’t dissolve.

So, I asked if anyone wanted to go dancing and no one did to my un-surprise. So, I went alone to a local club where an inner circle gave me stink eyes. Still, I persisted, because I wished it and what I wished I had to fight for and did. Still, the rhythm moved me so completely that before I knew it, despite the bruises, rude stares and even heckling, I had danced.

I personally think this is a very good text, simple as that, you have an eloquent vocabulary. One day I wish to be able to write in words that equal yours, so I can also create literary works, like you do.

I've been reading a lot of your poems and they give me a sense of calmness. Thank you for helping me that day, and for showing me this. Never stop dancing.
