Claim Me

I swaddled myself in the thickness of
a foggy night, and a foolish heart.
Waiting to hear your footsteps fall
into the middle of it all..
musical background and the licking of a
single candle flame thrown upon the wall.
Rolling over, sighing, wishing; anticipatory
breathing decreasing to never realized hopes.
Finally sleep was all that came to claim me,
wave at me through a small glorified stream of morning light.
I waited, but you never came.

"Never realized hopes"

Oh how I love your wording. This poem makes me sigh with sadness but smile at the poetic beauty of it all...

Princes and princesses are fairy tales. But love is ever-present, in all time.

Wonderful poem,
Zachary
