The Wild Rose
Love has not reason
The old saying goes
Where a heart will wander
No one ever knows
This power called love
Is a fire not quenched
Unleashes passion
Two souls are entrenched
Sometimes when it happens
It all seems so wrong
No rhyme, nor reason
It creates a new song
Others may notice
And just shake their heads
But the hearts it enraptures
Is a logic not fed
Like a wild rose growing
With its twists and turns
Slipping through obstacles
Steadily it yearns
Ever growing stronger
Two vines wind together
Creating a strength
Enduring all weather
Through the forest it continues
As it shall all through time
An unbreakable cord
Sweet sentiment's design
Now, hope finds a reason
The heart won't deny
Even when thwarted
Love's fragility belies
There love finds its answer
Despite all opposition
Fragrant and blooming
This irrational decision
