she sits on the couch in the liveingroom
as she waits for her fathers return
all the other kids were outside playing
she stares into space while they're all haveing fun
mommy ran away a long time ago
now daddys all she has
but daddys in the army hes been gone for 3 years
so shes all alone, thats so sad
every night before bed she tucks herself in
she reads herself a story to sleep
she tries her hardest and stays so strong
she does her best not to weep
theres a man at the door, come to take her away
to a family where she will be loved
where every night they'll tuck her in
and give her lots of kisses and hugs
now the years have passed she's much older now
and she has 2 kids of her own
she sits onthe couch in the liveingroom
as she waits for her husbands return
