There was never a time

Mutual misunderstandings, (Sorry Elton)
Complex and complicated,
And yet all we do is think,
And attempt, and they go away,
If we work hard enough,

Phases, that's all they are,
Tasks, that's all we do,
Your best with what you got,
And that's all that can be delivered,

You don't need titles to be,
Who you feel you are,
And in some cases,
You are the better fix,

There is never a time,
That we don't see day or even night,
We see them change shifts,
And they see us shift moods,

Improvise, Adapt and Overcome, (Sorry Clint)
We do what we can and must,
We play the fool only to learn right,
We adapt only when it feels comfortable,
And we overcome when comfort turns to confidence,

And still, there was never a time,
That we were in control,
In our mind of ego and superego,
Always civil, the police officer making the peace,

Difficulty is a cut in the line,
And you must confront,
Or you wait in line forever,
Because no one speaks, and no one pushes over,

Never there was a time to be,
Who you are,
Face the line and hope,
That the answers you give benefit,
Not be right and especially wrong,
Whatever you may be,
Time was never a subject,
When it came to standing after the fall,

The dancer moves without a trace,
