The things in the world with the highest expectations end unexpectedly.

Glory's Inevitable Silhouette

Standing tall and blazing proud
Taking breath and shouting loud
Brilliance seems to be your friend
All your subjects 'round you bend
Take a pause, ooo's and aahhh's
Strike your foe with peircing claws
Gleam and watch him hit the ground
March home 'til the sun goes down
In the dark, find a path
Darkness recoils from your wrath
Court the future, mind the past
Life's a ship and you're the mast
Dominion high above the rest
Catch the wind, bear the crest

Deep at sea, water flows
Bear a grin while the wind slows

In the mist, strike a fist
Hear the storm lightning resist
Draw your weapon, post alert
Observe danger laugh and flirt
As she wears a scarlet dress
Finger pointing, nodding yes
No, I say! a godly voice
But even Gods may have no choice
The lady blows a kiss your way
Turning night from stirring day
Dancing with quick feet tonight
In her trance, no chance of flight

Then she stops, and all is calm
Stares you down with palm to palm
Kisses gently on your neck
My, the winds do howl on deck
Lost our rations, lost the wine
Frantic for a propitious sign
Far from hills, and far from trees
Subject to the Seven Seas
Sweating, panting, what to do?
Poseidon's Trident runs him through
Chaos hands with waves that splash
The whipping water coils, and slash
Distant now, through foggish wall
A titan shadow getting small
It vanishes by dawnings end
Never to be seen again
