a ghost of a girl i used to know.

Josephine

Josephine
So sweet
So quiet
Never did a thing wrong

Did anyone see
You hiding back there
In the corner of the room
Lost in your imagination

Tell me
What did you dream about
What did you see
What did you think about

At school
She sat by herself
Smiling secretly
Like she knew lifes plan

At home
She sat on the floor
Listening to that old stereo
Playing your mums cassettes

The teen years
Weren't that kind
At night
She would lie and cry

She only wanted friendship
She only wanted love
She only wanted family
She only wanted happiness

Then on day
One ordinary day
Unlike any other
She spoke

From her mouth
Came extraordinary stories
And they all came
To listen

The all came to talk to her
She gained friendships she wanted
But the lonliness was still there
They never stopped for her.
