Mononucleosis (A Pleiades)


Mists swirl inland from the cedars,
mocking the coal-rich bogs where
men once sang as they worked.
Memories of their song fill my
mind, as I walk through the uninhabited
moor, left alone with myself, a
Mono-nucleus of life.
