For half a dollar

Does your mother know?
How you created her life
By sending a child
Into the deep silent ground

Does your father know?
How you gave him the Porsche
By watching a city bleed
And inhale your poison

Does your sister know?
How you got her to Harvard
Given the chances of her life
A young boy mysteriously disappeared

Does your brother know?
That every time he says "I"
One of those who made him king
Vanish into a deep dark hole

Looking for the silver chains you wear
Looking for the heart of a mountain
All in the name of your driveway and porches
They live to die in your wastelands
For half a dollar and kids without hands
