I Close My Door

when my body is battle weary
and this rain will not desist
my mind a cloud of lost conclusions
then heart and spirit must insist

i close my door

so weak and tired, void of strength
across my bed this head i lay
i close my eyes and wonder even
how i will make just one more day

i close my door

all have gone, i am forgotten
a silent house on a sea of cares
awash in tears, sleep escapes me
broken, humbled, offering prayers

i close my door

Dee Daffodil
On those days when you are battle weary, I hope you find that inner strength to sooth your soul, regain your focus and continue on. You write very well and have a ton of talent, so please rest up for those battles (whatever they may be...), and continue writing with us.

Hugs,
Dee

Kee Zealy The PoetBay support member heart!
This is an excellent portrayal of how we handle pain or loss. I am sure the door will open again.

Sometimes we have to take time out just to re-energise ourselves - a sad poem of that weariness that creeps in to our lives at times
