Magnolia Sweet Dreams

Magnolia sweet dreams
Swirling amid
Mesmirizing scent of white blossoms
Tantilizing fragile gentility

Strong evergreen serenity
Grows slow and purposeful
Tenacious as the old south

Soft and sensual
Aged and overwhelming
Living pastoral enigma

Swells burgeoning emotions
Of love of the land
And old traditions made new

I have a magnolia tree outside my apartment building whose branches reach right up to my bedroom window. In the summer it's like having a fragrant bouquet right there. I turn off the air conditioner and open the window to inhale the glorious scent. And in the winter there's those beautiful scarlet seed-berries. Lovely poem and I enjoyed reading it.

Mm, what a wonderful abundance of impressions ... Mellow like J J Cale's "Magnolia" ...
