Dear friends*, I just found this "ROUND ROBIN"** by our friend Veld Cooper in my mail box, it is so beautifully written that I don't have to add any thing to it I am posting it just as it is. It is self explanatory...my poem is the answer to his le

"Round Robin"(a wish for Veld Cooper)

My dear Cooper, I've just come to know,
In the corner of your eye, a tumour's begun to grow,
Being a doctor, I know what it can mean,
So I'll proceed without much ado,
That you have a heart of gold, we all know,
Which cries for everyone, friend or foe,
From the poems you posted, not very long ago:
"Easier to forget, or harder to cry",
"Round Sabre", "Ode to Maze" & "Betrayed"
I am overwhelmed by your talent, you know?
With few days left for your operation to go,
I want to tell this with all my heart:
"The one who feels for others like that,
Always comes out a winner, when it comes to that,
That he will be helped in his hour of need,
From God, from his friends, of all cast and creed!"
That we all are with you, in this period of trial,
That you need not worry, come storm or fire,
You'll wade through, and you'll quench the fire,
Of adversity of all manner, that may desire
To cross your path in this difficult hour!
We are all praying for you, dear Veld,
To get well soon and regain your health,
& Come back to poetBay, with new poetic wealth!

Truly yours,
Zoya & friends

*Dear friends, let wish our dear friend & fellow poet Veld Cooper, a successful operation and a speedy recovery! Amen!

**The"Roud Robin", by Veld Cooper:
"A quick update for a few select PoetBay friends – sorry that I can't write an individual letter to each of you, hence this 'round robin'.

About two years ago I had a cancerous tumour removed from the right-hand corner of my right eyelid.

I was supposed to go for a check-up a year ago and forgot all about this as I lost my closest friend around this time completely unexpectedly under the most terrible circumstances. I wrote a poem about this experience which I shared with you 'No Easier to Forget or Harder to Cry'.

About two weeks ago I started having an itch in the same corner of my right eye. This eventually led to deposits building up in the corner of the eye and blurred vision at times. I didn't need a paint-by-numbers thought process to conclude that the cancer had probably flared up again.

I today went for last year's check-up (!) and was told a second tumour has developed just alongside where the last one was removed, but closer to the corner. This tumour requires quite radical surgery as the danger of it attaching to the bone of the eye socket is the major concern. The tumour unfortunately lies directly above my lateral canthal ligament – the ligament which in layman's terms tensions and controls the skin around the eye. So the ligament will have to be severed as they dig down below it and they will then attempt to re-attach it while I am under anaesthetic.

Surgery is scheduled for Thursday 9 February and I will not be able to use the eye until the following Monday. A week after that, the stitches will be removed.

The Bay's Jedi Poet (as I am now baptised since Light Sabre) is obviously going to be out of action for awhile and I didn't want any of his friends to think I was ignoring them, their messages or their truly fabulous work. I hope to do some writing in the coming days, but if the eye troubles me too much, I may just pull the plug.

SEEYA sounds like a fitting, if possibly optimistic, ending!

May The Force be with you!"

Oh, Zoya...you have a more caring heart than anyone I know. This is such a beautiful write, not only because of the words themselves, but because of the meaning behind them, the sincerity, and the friendship. You have so much talent, but what makes you a truly wonderful writer is your unbounding compassion. *hug* Thank you for that lovely poem!!

How do you tell someone you care? How can you say you are thinking of them and praying for them? Zoya, you did all of that, and more, in this poem. Showing you are a very kind and warm hearted person, while saying the things we all need to hear.
My prayers each night include Veld for a safe journey through this time and for a return to good health.
