Lady Izumi

"Will I cease to be,

Or remember beyond the world

Our last meeting together?"

Leaves perfectly still

Even the birds are silent

Waiting for the storm

Suddenly thunder

From the pine trees sparrows spill

The first drops of rain

Fog-silvered window

Two sides of the same mirror

The rain and her tears

She writes her poem

He will never read the words

Falling on the page

Fine, as always, Fog. I particularly like the sparrows spilling and the words falling onto the page.

Ahh...thanks for the introduction to Lady Izumi...
A beautiful poem.
So direct it hurts as it should.
It makes me think in three dimensions
Or more :)

Well, c/f...
As always, you paint a beautiful picture. By coincidence, it describes very closely the inspiration for my Cathedral, recently posted.
I have just read about Lady Izumi: interesting! The Floating Lady; this nomenclature does not, to the peace dove, suggest a brewing storm...
