sometimes we just think too much

Sea Oat Medallions

Sea Oat Medallions
Cast circular misdirections
Where the path of choice
Has an element of indecision

Settled just below a bleu celeste horizon
Stretching arching towards its sea salt
Pool of emerald wavelets
Yet the path is not clear

If I traverse right
Will I see a brilliant painted landscape?
If I traverse left will I stumble
Due to my indecision?

I seize and tremor with fear
Associated with a route
That I must select
While I stand petrified

I take the steps and accept
The fate of my actions
While I pray for guidance
And find the destination is the same

Ironically, Mr Zealy, given your introductory note, this is a most thought-provoking piece! And may I take this opportunity to express my admiration for all your evening's work.
Choice can torture us if we allow it to do so. In my hospital dealings I struggle to choose the right way, all too aware of potentials and problems. But in order to live fully, I take a leap of faith and agree to new treatment.
There is much appealing imagery here. For some reason I am particularly enamoured of the 'emerald wavelets'. And perhaps the path will appear clearer with greater familiarity. Not for the first time this week, I find myself silenced into daydreams...
Applause!
