Broken plastic petals

I have delved as deeply as I can - as little as you have let me
into your mind and your heart
You deceived me - to sate your hunger for my hunger, your desire to be desired by me
You will never believe that had any of this been real
I would never let you near me
You will never believe that I had already left
when you let me know how you had betrayed me
A betrayal only breaking implicit promises
explicitly and expressly denied
There are no more words left in me for you
only an irritated anger
and a slight spark of distant curiosity
for this man I never understood - yet know so completely
who could reach so deeply into me and foresee my words
yet never understood me
