Pantoum + You = Art?

Current number of contributions: 8!

Take part in our modern pantoum challenge, enrich our pantoum challenge collection! But first of all, what is a Modern Pantoum? A modern pantoum consists of an indefinite number of four-line stanzas (quatrains).

Lines 2 & 4 of the first stanza are used as lines 1 & 3 on the second stanza. Usually the paired lines are also rhymed. The last line of a pantoum is often(not always) the same as the first. The lines may be of any length.

Please indicate in your posts that your poems are contributions to this challenge by including the following "Pantoum challenge" or "Current challenge" in your titles. We will as usual, collect them all and post them together (here) after the challenge ends(13/02).

• This friendly challenge is open to all members of PoetBay. Feel welcome to contribute, inspire us while you hone your poetic skills! Co - writing with another poetbay member is a welcomed possibility.

Two good examples of the pantoum are

Although it's a restrictive style,
I've found a lot of freedom in them
