I have seen her before... but only in dreams... as it should be

A Rhapsody in Blue

The gown in liquid folds
Sky blue edged in indigo
Counterpoints her
White hair piled in thoughtful
Random fashion to reveal her
Alabaster shoulders
The scent of Lavender
Strapless
With the silhouette of a far
Younger woman
Grace and poise
Serenity and love
A full moon rising from the depths
Frames her in art nouveau
Facing away
Turning at my footstep
Her smile welcoming
Her opera gloved hand
Reaches out to mine
The touch electric
The orchestra
A rhapsody in blue
Gently drifting effortlessly
To eternity

This is so beautiful. Once again I feel quite ineffectual after reading your work. Well done.

Now, that's a dream! I'd happily trade one of mine for it, but I doubt that you're interested in experiencing mundane pursuits going absurdly awry.

A lovely dream . . . romance and reverence and a sense of wonder. Of all the things I've lost growing old I miss perhaps dreams like this most.
