al in a new light

I- I thought I was happy-
and that I knew love.
till early an
august morning
I saw it all in a new light-
love and life- happiness
All in the eyes of my newborn
butterfly girl

She was red, angry
screaming at the top of her lungs-
so beautiful and
absolutely perfect
And melted her way
into my heart
And the world was
suddenly all new-

Beautiful to read and expressing the sentiments so many of us have felt - moments etched into our hearts and the bond that lies with mother and child.

A simply beautiful sentiment, well written. Men physiologically simply cannot be as intimate with birth as a woman and mother. I was present at the birth of both of my children and held them in my arms seconds after my wife had delivered them. I can even now, thirty plus years later, see with complete clarity that wondrous child I held each time and remember my sense of awe and privilege at being a father. Thanks for this door to those memories.
