Snow / Three Haiku and a Tanka

Trickle from pine boughs

Drilling holes in the first snow

For hungry sparrows

Framed by a snow sky

Crows over the field sketching

A charcoal drawing

Last light falls and flares

Flickering inside snow clouds

Rice paper lanterns

* * * * * * *

Snow drifts and settles

Nothing above or below

Has stirred across it

If you come to look for me

You will know where I have gone

You have a deft touch and a unique delicacy, my friend! These I'll treasure all the more knowing your seasonal preference is NOT winter. Happy New Year!

this is so picturesque dear friend! i've always had a weakness for these forms and the way you wrote all these four gems is simply delightful!
