Someone took a lot of effort to write what I ignore
I scan over and take in the "gist"
Then click off never to be seen again
Someone's creativity ignored by me
But you see
Heaps of the stuff, too much to read
An everlasting cyberspace of pages
I read one and miss a million
May be two million, may be a trillion
Even the few I see I don't see
Not really
I may leave a comment
I know what it means
Poetry is personal, few make it through
One man's poetry is another man's mouse click

Yes, of course, there are many good poems written in these sites and go unread or misunderstood if we try to read too many at a time and come up with a suitable comment. I find that I really enjoy reading other people's poetry and find surprises and disappointments in them, but it's enjoyable nevertheless. I believe that some poems are written as a personal expression of the poet, and need no comment at all. Sometimes I am so touched by a poem that also, I cannot comment. Time constrictions, of course, is the biggest reason why we cannot read all that is written, nor comment on so many good poems.

I like the way you have expressed this. :-)

Ultimately the question becomes: For whom do you write and why do you write? When you write for yourself do you write in order to understand the world perhaps yourself and share your discovery or do you write in order to get reactions become what you become in the eyes of others instead of evolving while writing? Sometimes what causes a click is a eye - catching title but is the eye catching title genuinely eye catching or created to manipulate someone in order to get them to click the link? The second alternative usually helps someone arrive to the conclusion that this writer is not worthy of one's attention and can be categorized as spam the result is that next time that individual creates a eye catching title it will no longer be eye catching but a reminder of someone's attempt to get attention. I think that this is how the world of the internet has been divided:)
