Lie to me

Lie to me,
Tell me I have lovely eyes

Lie to me,
Tell me I have a pretty smile

Lie to me,
Tell me I'm the only girl you'll ever love

Lie to me,
Tell me you'll never stop

Lie to me,
Say it's sunny even when it's pouring

Lie to me,
Say we'll survive even when the earth is caving

Lie to me,
Say it's not over even when it is

Lie to me,
Say it'll never end even it has

Lie to me, don't ever stop

It's only dangerous
When the illusion pops...

I'm with Joe. This poem is like a hammer hitting a steel beam. It's starkly direct. Good job.

I like this. It is kind of syncopated which adds to the feeling. And the ending is great.

The pounding cadence you employ here drives a rhythm that creates increasing tension as the poem is read and explodes in the last line. Well done
