post-pubescent/pre-idiocy

flashlight tag

in the park with eric and joannie

and roger

and everyone from social service

going on retreat

with the same bunch

flirting

and being serious

going to the All Night Cafe

with danny and julie

bad food and fluorescent light

basketball games

with lura and carl and richie

arby's afterward

then, one rainy night, a first kiss

chaste, on the cheek

but oh my!

This is a fun, nicely written poem. I especially liked "bad food and fluorescent light" and "oh my!"

I really hate this slow connection!!! I checked it twice and it wasn't there, so I had to write it again. Sorry! Welcome to life in the paradise of the third world!

It read happy and carefree and made me remember what it was like. Why do we change?

Shakespeare didn't have a whole lot to say about happiness, but a quote does come to mind: "I were but little happy, if I could say how much." You said as much. :-)

I love it! You make me remember what it was like to be that young and carefree. You sound happy and very real.

Since you mentioned Shakespeare, I am glad you didn't try to write it in his style since he was so much better at tragedy. He didn't have much to say on happiness, but here is one of his quotes on the subject: "I were but little happy, if I could say how much." You said as much. :-)
