Just a short story for my family, and all others who are loved by me. Enjoy!

Operation: Love

Operation: Love

My idea of a fun evening is cuddling up with Snuggles, a teddy bear I got at a yard sale for $3.00, just like the one from the laundry detergent commercials, on my sister's new x-box rocker with a book by V. C. Andrews. I especially like these books, not only because I like to read strange mystery books, but also because the main character's name is Melody, which is one of my favorite names. Today we went to a library book sale and you could fill a paper bag for only $2.00, and me and my mom filled 3 whole bags, and I am serious when I say that we got at least one hundred books. My mother and I are bookworms, so it didn't really surprise me. Imagine, over a hundred books, only for $6.00! We made out like bandits! If you're a bookworm, you missed out if you weren't at that sale today! But enough about that.
Just a couple of weeks ago, one of my poems was chosen from a contest to be published by the American Poets association. What do ya think of that? Pretty cool, huh? Anyway, I also got nominated to go to a meeting in Washington, D.C. for 6 days about a month ago. It costs $1,800.00 total. We've done all kinds of fund-raising things, such as a pizza sale at the Mennonite school we go to, also the one my dad works at as a Bible and Computer teacher. We've also sent out letters. It was really fun! I've been especially lucky lately, as you may know by what you've just read. It's all thanks to the people I love. My teacher has supported me in my fund-raising for the trip to Washington. My mom has especially supported me in that. My entire family, in fact, has supported me. So has my church, among others whom are dearly loved by me. And that, my friends, brings us to the reason this is being written. It is sort of like a bunch of mini biographies, but they will be fun to read. They won't be about people who are dead who did something to help our economy. They will be about real-life people who have supported me throughout everything that's been going on lately, and I think that when you read these, you will find that these people are much like the people in your life today, people who you love very much so. And let the games... er, I mean, biographies... begin!

Operation: Mom
Characteristics: Supportive, Loving, Caring, And Fun
Okay, so everyone knows that Mom is the bomb, but this mom... she's different in a very good way. Most dads are the ones who have the hammer and the screwdriver, but my mom, well, she's the one with the tool kit. It might sound strange to you, but it really isn't for me. Mom's always been the one who wants a new tool kit for Christmas, or maybe that new drill that just came out that they say is REALLY great! Yeah, you better believe it! When I said these people might make you think of people in your own life, I didn't mean they would be like your loved ones in a way that they like and do the same things. I meant the fact that each person you love is special in their own way, like my Mom is. I think you will agree, almost every child thinks their mom is the best out there. And, yes, it's true for most of them! I sure do believe my mom's the best one in the world... no, in the universe! My mom is also special in a way that she always knows if something is bothering me, no matter how hard I try to hide that fact. Have you ever noticed that about your own Mom or Dad? I'm sure you have... and that is one reason I think you have actually been enjoying this. You may not be, but that's okay if you aren't. If you aren't, skip to "Operation: Big Brother." That should cheer you up! When I say my big brother is, well, special, I LITERALLY mean special, as in, SUPER WEIRD, like most brothers are. Enough about my brother, though... this story is about Mom. Mom's favorite colors are mostly red and yellow, but a lot of the times we ask, she says she generally likes all colors. That's good, in my book! Anyway, she absolutely LOVES to read, and when she gets into a series of books, she just HAS to read every single one, no matter what! She is a GREAT mom... sorry; I had to say that, for it is SO true! Now back to Mom, Mom is a GREAT cook. Every kid knows that their mom cooks the best, or their dad, and NOBODY can cook better! Some people might cook almost as good as Mom, but definitely never better. Mom is a substitute preschool teacher and a great at-home mom! Mom is always great and so supportive. Do you think she is like your Mom?

Operation: Dad
Characteristics: funny, loving, and caring
Okay, we must forge on... which brings us to, yep, you guessed it, dad. Now, unlike in most households, my dad is not the cook or the handyman, but he does help around the house, and he is really cool. One thing that he is really good at is making impressions. And when he makes impressions, you have to laugh. He is just so funny! He is a computer and Bible teacher at Ephrata Mennonite school, the school my siblings and I go to. All the kids at school have to agree. I, personally, think he is the best teacher and dad a kid could ever have, like most kids think about their own dads. Dad's favorite color is blue, and he loves his laptop. I do believe that he could not live without it! Well, he might have been able to live without one if he had never gotten one in the first place, but even that's a little doubtful! Funny, huh? Anyway, dad may not be like most others, but he is the greatest dad in the universe! Once, again, I know most of you will all agree that you think your dad is the best in the world, right? Correct again! Woohoo! I am on a roll, aren't I? Sorry. Back to dad, I'm pretty sure his favorite color is blue. AT least, that's what it was last time I checked! Anyway, my dad, well, you can always find him with a smile on his face. Isn't that just great? HE is, by far, the greatest dad in the universe! Isn't yours?

Operation: Big brother
Characteristics: funny, weird, and just plain awesome!
Well, there you have it folks! Okay, John may not always be nice, but he can always make anything funny. He could cheer anyone up any day, any hour, any minute, any second. He always has a big smile on his face and a really funny joke up his sleeve. It's great having a brother like that. Now, you might be thinking, "If he is so cool, why did you put him down as weird?" well, the answer to that is that he is both weird and cool. Now, let me tell you some weird facts about john: John has a phone booth as a closet. He also has a filing cabinet as a bureau. When he does his homework, you often find him sitting in his old dental chair, like the ones you sit in when you go to the dentist. He has a moped, which he rides to school. He has a "lane closed" sign like the ones from the stores, which he will use to decorate his new room. He will use plenty of other weird things to decorate, too. Now do you see what I mean when I say that John is "weird"? I'm sure you do. My family is always telling him that he could be a comedian, and I do believe he could. I don't know how he does it, but somehow he can make a joke out of everything! I'm serious! All those things I said about him that are weird are true! Here's another weird thing: he makes fun of me and teases and annoys me, but he is just plain awesome! He is, and I know that any of you people out there with big brothers feel the same way! John wants to be a secret spy agent or in the military when he gets older. Sound familiar?

Operation: Big Sister
Characteristics: Fun, Caring, Neat & Clean, and Sweet
Now, Ana, short for Anastasia, is pretty much the best big sister a kid could have. Here are some reasons why: She is always so bold, and she stands up for herself... and for me. She is cautious and caring, but not too cautious. She cares about me. Are those good enough reasons? I would say they are. She's really tall for a 13-year-old, and just about the prettiest teenager I've ever seen. She does use makeup, but she doesn't overdo it, like some sisters might, just to get popular. She is pretty much the perfect big sister. She cares about me, and stands up for what she thinks is right. She defends me, is sort of what I am saying. She speaks out for herself and for what she believes in. She is also very funny, and is almost always smiling or laughing about something. Her favorite color is baby blue, a very light shade of blue. She LOVES to eat chicken. She also loves playing soccer a lot. I'm sorry, but I have to say it again, Ana is the prettiest, kindest girl I have ever met! She is a great sister with great qualities and amazing characteristics, (as you have read in the beginning of this one). How would you like to have a sister like her? I'm sure, deep inside, that your older sister is like that. She may just not show it physically, like Ana does. But you should love your sister even if they don't really show it much. She does love you! And I'm sure she's much like sweet Ana inside.

Operation: Little Sister
Characteristics: Happy, Adorable, Funny, and Nice
Okay, Sarah can be really annoying, but she is the sweetest thing! She is adorable and funny. She likes to pretend she's popular and play school. When she imitates being popular, boy is she funny! She also, like most little sisters, shows off. But, I can live with that, because she is the cutest little thing I have ever seen! Not only that, but inside she is super kind. She can be very annoying, but she is nice! For example: just the other day, Sarah and I bought bubbles, one set each. We were blowing them on our back porch, and I accidentally bumped my opened bottle and lost half of it. While I wasn't looking, she filled my bottle up with half of her bottle! Isn't that just the sweetest thing? I had to share that. It shows how nice little sisters can be, even though they annoy you sometimes. Sarah's favorite colors are blue, purple, and pink. She likes playing soccer, too, like Ana. Sarah is a great little sister. This is the last mini-bio, so I hope you have enjoyed all of the bios!

Do you see what I mean now? Love is a great power, and it isn't always shown on the outside. Though you may not know it, your sisters and brothers who seem to annoy you every day love you very much. Operation: Love.
