Personal quest

Deep within

Hiding myself,
putting barricades
on raw feelings,
painful emotions,
I get along life
with a smile.

This façade
Which I show
is not what I am.
The real me
is better off
deep within.

Wow, I felt chills on this one. I do this EVERYDAY (except with my husband). I just don't feel like I click with anyone...I love this poem...is there something higher than a "5" :)?!?!

Zoya Zaidi
There is a beautiful couplet by Urdu poet Mustafa Zaidi (no he is not my relative!),
which happens to be my personal favourite too; and I quote:
"Ask my tears the truth of my soul,
My facade smile is not the mirror of my soul"
Of course it is horribly lost in translation...
Your poem reminded me of that.
Welcome to bay Gauthami from my side!
