passion

~

back in the city   running hills

making tea   visiting marcy and antoinette

working   writing   wishing

remembering colin's grandfather's words

age   he says

is a state of mind   up to a point

and that point begins the day you lose interest

in your passions

do not let that day come too soon

his spoke of passion distantly

it makes me sigh   what is passion   is it terri

and my north country girl

is it something else   something i've yet to find

i'll settle for former   and wait for the latter

As someone who has reached "that point," I wish you luck.

Passion! Grandfather is so right. We must keep it alive to the last day. As he says, when we lose it we can feel the end approaching, at least the end of our real life. There is no real life without a dream. Maybe it's in the past and we remember the memory or maybe it's in the future and we hope for it, but passion we must have for a cause, for a wish, for something. Love your writing.

Wise words from your Grandpa :-) This writing shows me your desire for earlier times, but looking for the passion in life that lies ahead. I enjoy your writings
