True Colors

With time and space
A person's true colors
Are seen.
The more people
You surround yourself with
The more who will disappoint you.
I have my family who love me
And a few close friends
They are all I need.
I'm tired of being let down
By people
I thought I could trust.
At the time
They said the right things
And made me feel good.
But in the end
They showed their true colors
And that was the end of them in my life.
