Right before I start a poem I always look at the empty sheet of paper and admire the beauty of it... I'm so weird!!!!!!!

Paper

Staring at the paper
a beautiful pure white
Lowering my pencil but
not knowing what to write

Should it be a story
or a ballad long and sad
Or a poem proclaiming love
from a lassie to a lad

I could be the next Silverstien
One among the great
But not if my paper is in
a poetryless state

It could be a fairytale
of dragons and of queens
Or I could write a cookbook,
"What not to do with beans"

I'm putting down my pencil
and giving the paper a glare
I am personally content
When there is nothing there

And so sits my piece of paper
slowly growing old
An unfinished work of art
No stories to be told
