A national superhero passed today


O Captain Tom




Fifteen hundred deaths today,
And you were one of them.

O Captain Tom!
You have gone!
We loved you
With all our hearts!
Your gentle resolve,
Your total optimism,
Your humble determination,
Your song for the nation,
You'll never walk alone.

And you are our
Superhero!
