Par for the Course

- when the medecine will make you sicker before better... a common occurrence in the current treatments available...

Apparently, this is normal...

You'll have to get more sick first

Before you can get well again

But you'll have other medecines

To counteract the effects of this one

And so on, if these others affect too

It'll all be well in the end, you'll see

Well, that's mighty reassuring...

Unfortunately it is like that sometimes. That's why old people have cabinets full of pills.

Even though drugs have side effects, people (on average) live longer now than they have ever done before in all of human history. But I have a hunch that things like CRISPR and other forms of genetic engineering (gene therapy) will supplant most drugs eventually. We will have to resolve some ethical considerations, however, along the way.

A nicely-written poem. I enjoyed it.

Best,
Miles

Yeah, maybe. I once was prescribed a medicine which listed blindness as a rare side effect. I hoped for the best and took it anyway. I may still be taking it. So far, so good.

Regrettably true one is reminded of the DuPont Chemical slogan. “Better living through chemistry “

Yes, I too have found this to be normal. One ends up with a rather long repeat prescription form. The poem is well written and members of Coo & Co send love and hugs as always xx
