An Ocean Drenched in Winter

I stare intently
at the coast to
memorize the bleakness

Of blackened winds and
icy waves that swarm
along the shore

My face, my ears,
my eyes all sting
frozen in the northern chill

I marvel at the solitude
of an ocean drenched
in winter

I felt not only the bitter cold but also the emotional contemplative space. Very nice.

Unfortunately I don't live near the ocean anymore, I miss it, but I love it whatever the season, you've captured Winter so well I shiver.

One can almost feel the pinch of the cold wind and feel the occasional sprinkle of sea spray on the face. 'An ocean drenched in Winter' is a magical line. Well done. Love it.

Thanks Hans

This took me right there, to where I could see that coast in its winter solitude - and isn't winter sometimes the best time to see the ocean?
