1am IN THE MORNING

Knock on door one windy night,
Came about one in the morning.
Would have woken me up,
If wife hadn't been snoring.

Opened window looking down, Yelled.
"what do you want at this time of night?",
Thought he may have been from outta town.
His feet planted firmly on the ground, Said.

"Ay mush could you give me push?.
Sorry for getting you outta bed".
A resounding "NO" was all I said.
Closed window went back to bed.

Played on my mind if he's broken down,
There's no garage open at weekends.
In this sleepy old town,
Thought I'd better get up and give him a push.

Now there were no lights on in our street,
Ground mist was down couldn't see a thing.
Called out. "Where are you?". Reply came back,
"I'm over here: On the swing".
