my best friend

all my friends ive ever had
have come and gone, left me sad
every friend, except for one
my dearest, my nearest
our time together is not yet done
her name is krista she's been there since the start
together forever not ever apart
she's been there for me
when no one else was
her laughter heals me
like nothing else does.
ive known her since before i can remember
but i remember one day, in bleak december
i came crying, overcome by fears
she took me in, and dried my tears
i help her, she helps me
each one welcoming the other
with warmth and hospitality
its how best friendship works
being there for eachother with our kind ways
i hope we'll be there for eachother
till the end of our days
