so much for the greater good
as i lay me down on the soft green groundlisten to disaster flowing all around
my life is going down the drain it seems
lying in a feild of shattered broken dreams
and as a drift into deep peaceful sleep
i hear the trees begin to weep
the fumes of life killing them slowly
the humans thinking of themselfs solely
so much for the greater good...
in my dreams i see a different world
and as every bright new leaf unfurled
i new i was in the far far past
and it made me sad that it wouldnt last
sooner or later the men would come
build machines that would rattle and hum
and claim this land as their own
and never leave this world alone
so i sat beneath a tree and began to cry
only one question on my mind, that question was: why?
so much for the greater good...
