What’s the use?

Since 2010 I’ve shared poems on here;
since then I’ve also published near about
a hundred songs (I hope have reached hundreds
of ears) and made about ten thousand cash
in this business also called poetry.

And I’ve amassed a fair bit of some fame,
though only here, Nepal, my country and
perhaps Malaysia where a magazine
has published words I wrote, and then of course
some small US presses that have released

my verse. The wealth is not enough. The fame
is minuscule. I’ll never be Michael
Jackson. But do I want to be? Hell no.
I’m only glad that since I was 14
and had decided poetry to be

my art, my craft, my passion, which to lead
my life, has not changed one small bit. I live,
I write, I love, I write some more, I hate,
and turn emotions into words. I think
that’s my lot in this life I’m born to lead.

You know that you are a poet, and you write poetry. Youve established a fairly satisfactory life. Imagine how much worse off you'd be if you knew you were a poet, but you devoted your life to accountancy or logistics.
