What the US Soldier Witnessed In Gaza
A child in Gaza kissed my handwhen I gave him some food.
They shot him five minutes later
just like they said they would.
Just like they said they would, oh lord.
The child died with a smile.
His hands had barely touched the food.
Crumbs flew while lungs expired.
They laughed and danced behind their guns.
A mother’s wail their music.
Who told them just because they’d guns
they had to go and use it?
They had to go use it, oh lord.
They’ll argue in the news.
A child in Gaza died today
while millions whispered “Good”.
And millions more will cry and moan
while children keep on dying.
Even ISIS treated their charge
with dignity. Surprising.
A child in Gaza kissed my hand
when I gave him some food.
They shot him five minutes later.
They shot him dead. He’s dead.
