Meant To

With red and blue lines like arteries and veins
Bleeding dreaming into words
Coaxing heartbeats into life
Never reads the way was meant to be
Sometimes close to full nearly empty,

A sea of wishes with waves good-bye
Yet one returns whether wilt or no
With the Moon's reflection in your eye
It's often easier to just let go

But going is not the same as gone
In sudden moments that turn to song
Of hidden secrets known all along
Like some gentle light inside a stone

Needing dreaming of the words
Sometimes close to full nearly empty
Never reads the way was meant to be
