lynn's words
irrefutable truths
lin and i are driving home after
the weekend with colin at the vineyard
i'm driving, lin is writing in her journal
i'm happy to report colin is doing well
his grandfather moderately less gruff
yenny eternal, seems to grow younger
it was warm for this time of year, and dry
worrisome, but good for the grapes
the nights were cool, windows wide open
colin and i walked the rows while lin
sketched and talked with colin's grandfather
our talk was of war and weather
crimes against humanity and complicity
also of books read, media and food consumed
remembrances and philosophizing
after that, as it's spring, we played catch
baseball and mitts, iconic, classic, much needed
colin says i throw like a girl—i say two plus two equals four
