Summer Fondles

Hands outstretch and arms do too. An invitation
To come inside.
Will you?
Will you
Enter this room and lay beside my body
Willing to bend over sideways for you all through the night?

Don’t worry. The room is booked. The fridge
Is stocked. There’s water and wine. We can order
Food anytime you like. Let your mind
Rest. The bed is soft. The pillows
Feel like marshmallows, or would you rather
Lay your head on my chest?

Take off your clothes. The air is warm. We can skinny dip
In the summer air. The bed, our pool. The pillows,
Our floats. Or we can drown in each other.
And if we do, resuscitate the other with a wet kiss.

I'll be honest, the connection here feels bought, or at least like an attempt at buying it. The invitation seems to be supported by things and self sacrifice rather than the speaker as a person. Might be that it's just the darkness in me. I enjoyed this nonetheless.

This is just lovely- a comforting invitation to another to just be in the moment together!
