Bouquet
A bouquet of red roses, perfectly similar in size and color,
thorns trimmed, baby’s breath
an accent to perfection,
the quintessential lover’s gift.
A bouquet of clover flowers,
white with a touch of lavender,
leaves pulled off, gifted
by a grandchild’s hand,
a touching, gentle gift.
To be clear,
the love behind the bouquet
is the gift.
