I DO WHAT I CAN

Each individual seems

To put their own stamp

On the things that I write

Sometimes I wonder

When they write about me

What the fudge

Are they on about

Some try to read between

It's the poetry that

They cannot fully see

Now you may think

I'm a bit of a slob

But you don't have to

Can't you see

What poetry means

As for me

I'm rather thick skinned

So you can say anything

My ego cannot be bruised

If you think that it can

You may think of me

As a tempered man

Until you realise

That I'm not

Still haven't recovered

Not completely man

It's hard for me to write

I'm expected to

So I do what I can
