Curmudgeons

The definition:
self proclaimed sinless saints
claiming reverence, lacking this knowledge:
respect is earned in waves.

The solution:
Push and, if the tides align,
you’re given what you gave.
Sow and, if the time is right,
you reap.

The reaction:
Lips pursed like a sour plum
ingested by a barren mouth.
Spit the seed.
Nothing will grow
within a barren mouth.

Reminds me of a couple of someones that I have come to know, and I would add including myself, although I don’t consider myself in anyway shape or form as sinless. No saint here. Perhaps my operating definition of curmudgeon has a nuanced difference and variation. 🤪
